Too much? Too Little?

Recently my life is full of work, standing in the crowded bus ...and NKF.

Yes. The lunch time hot topic was scattered around the office these few days. Everyone was cursing, forwarding emails....and the usual "did you call & donate?" changed to "did you sign the petition?".

Thoughts kept running to my mind.
Well, i'm not a supporter of NKF though i donated few times before. However after this incident, i felt sorry for NKF staff as well as....Durai. Someone might be screaming at mi or shake me if they heard wrongly. Alright, public expressed their opinions though petition, graffiti splashed on its walls when they knew Durai was taking first-class, having specticular pay..etc. I wasn't saying Durai as a CEO was doing right thing for a non-profit organisation. He was wronged for greed. Should i rather say he would have no wrong at all if he was the CEO of normal listed company?

I think he deserved a high pay juz tt this is a non-profit org & money comes from public. Isn't the government getting high pay too for managing the country? Do we blame them n request they should serve the country wif a humble salary? All this lies to this is a non-profit org... n he should manage a listed co instead of NKF 30 over years ago.

He was a volunteer in NKF when he was my age & expanded the org though these 30 years. In term of leadership & management, he had done it perfectly well. Which local non-profit org would able to make the kidney research internationally, providing excellent service to patients and quality of standard?

For my understanding, NKF was also having raising funds activities , doing lots of projects & managing huge amount of funds. He managed the org well & his effort was there...though he was not right this time but public should not overlook the effort he had done right? At least he was doing his part in providing help to the needed ones...Unless he did not done his part in helping at all. My point is he was already punished for greed but no one remembered his past efforts...Is that a death sentence for him?

It was sad that people juz stepped in and take away his "baby"juz like tt.
After having this "baby" in stomach, providing the baby best food, training & education, seeing this "baby" growing till an adult...his "baby" vanished 4ever once he done something wrong.

Well, i understand when it comes to money concern, singaporean will be hyper-sensitive & their angry reactions are reasonable. I was juz somehow felt disappointed tt the public would onli blame n think nothing else. All info they get from media n press had directly became their thinking & opinion. They dun have time to cool down n think of the whole matter.

For Durai, seem like he will neber able to live well in singapore again wif everyone fingers pointed at him, even though he was not committing murderer offences. I wondered how well can the next appointed CEO manage such huge non-profit organisation. Will it be as successful as before?

Everyone wanted a transparency for all charitable and voluntary welfare organisations, following what the press/media stated. Well, then, here is one part of the CNA says:

"On the public outcry over NKF and its former CEO TT Durai, Mr Ee urged to public to cool down and focus on the patients who require their help.
He said there was not enough information so far for the public to make an informed judgement.

Mr Ee said: "Once everything comes down and people sit down and reflect, they will realise that the amount stated in the newspapers - too much or too little - how do you form a judgement when you don't know really what he does?
"For all you know he may be putting in 14, 15 hours a day. He is there every night until 9, 10 o'clock - roll up his sleeves, and really in the field, working with the team and all that. You find me someone who is willing to do that for $5,000 a month - maybe you should start a HR (Human Resource)company." "
